Sub Topic IV
What Should the Collector Do?
The Participants’ Training Manuals contain 2 sets of pages for this
sub-topic, too. Ask them to turn to the first set of pages which contains
only the description of each problem and some questions to generate discussion.
Ask different participants to read each of the following problems. Then,
ask for the group’s opinions concerning what they think the appropriate
response to each of the questions should be.
After a brief discussion, if they have not correctly stated the answers,
you can either tell them what each one is and encourage them to write
it in the space provided for each “Response” or you can ask
them to turn to the second set of pages and read each response silently
as either you or one of the participants reads it aloud.

mother to be mailed on the first of each month with no other explanation.
Her concerned mother calls the agency whose name is on the outside of
the envelope to get further details about her daughter’s debt in
order to help her daughter pay it off. What should the debt collector
say to this mother? Continue...
